Parameterisation & usage

An activation signal generator is used to create a square wave (between 1 and 0) fully depending on the parameters chosen.

The activation signal is ‘1' between start (S) and end (E) time. Outside these times the activation signal is ‘0’. You can set a range (S’ and E') to add randomness to your simulations, as not everyone will set their heating on at 8h exactly.

By clicking weekends operational, the weekends will have the same behaviour as the week days and a holiday period can be added to also have a continuous activation signal of '0' during that period.

By clicking profile type at the top of the parameterisation you can choose 4 different options:

  1. Continuous: keeps the day setpoint constantly

  2. Unimodal: 1 time step per day

  3. Bimodal: 2 time steps per day

  4. Trimodal: 3 time steps per day

Examples:

Here you can see the 4 different options shown.
