KV-value
The KV-value is the parameter necessary to calculate the pump, defining a pressure drop at a certain volume flow rate through the specific component.
There are 3 options to fill in the KV-value:
1. Fill in the KV value if it is known
2. Calculate the KV value through the Static calculation method
calculates the KV-value based upon a given pressure drop and volume flow rate. For example, a boiler that shows a design flow of 3 l/s and correlating pressure drop of 20 kPa. Furthermore, the working design temperature and, if a refrigerant is used, can also be implemented as these of course influence the KV calculation.
3. Calculate the KV value through the Design conditions calculation method
calculates the KV-value based upon a given pressure drop for the calculated design flow
Note that the first calculation step (“Compute design flows”) has to be performed to do this.
In this case, the same 20 kPa is filled in, which now compares it to the design volume flow.
