The Message Overview provides users with a streamlined view of all error, warning, and info messages after having performed one or more calculation steps.

The message overview can be opened using the “message overview” icon at the top of the Hysopt screen. The icon updates dynamically based on the type of messages present in the model (error:, Warning: , info: , No messages: ). Another way to open the message overview is to click the button in the pop-up window right after a calculation step.

Ribbon bar

The message overview opens at the right-hand side of the canvas screen in a vertical ribbon bar. You will see three distinct tabs (Error, Warning, Info) where each tab categorises based on the type of message. The message count for each tab is also displayed. Within each tab, messages are clustered per calculation step. The message overview can be closed by using the close button at the right-top corner, or by pressing the message overview icon again.

Message box

Within the message overview, you can extend and collapse all messages per calculation step by using the drop-downs. Every message is displayed as a message box, as depicted in the figure below:

Each message box consists of:

• The message itself

• Message code: A code between brackets (e.g. ESYS00002) at the end of the message to help you search your message on Error/warning overview

• More info: Button that automatically directs to the particular message’s help with solution on the Error/warning overview

• Message count: Identical messages in your model are collapsed into one message in the message overview. The message count shows you the exact amount that this message occurs. The number is displayed as the current message/total messages.

• “Navigate to” button : allows you to navigate to the components on the Hysopt canvas that carry the particular message. If the message occurs multiple times, you can loop through the occurences by clicking this button multiple times.
