Can I access my Hysopt BIM Syncer models via a Chrome browser?

No, Your Hysopt BIM Syncer models are not accessible via a Chrome browser

Where are the log files stored? Can I change the default location?

The log files are stored by default in the ApplicationData folder instead of the installation folder located in Program Files.

You can find this folder on following location C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Hysopt

How to uninstall the Hysopt BIM Sycner plugin

Go to windows settings and look for the

User interface

How to change the default mouse button to pan in Hysopt model?

Go to User settings:

Change the default mouse button to pan by selecting the your preferred option.

How to resize P&ID window or Validation window?

Use zoom-in or zoom-out buttons at the bottom of the window.

Is it possible to dock the Hysopt P&ID and validation window?

The windows have the same functionality as dockable windows in Revit.

See following Autodesk page for more information on how to dock : https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit/getting-started/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2019/ENU/Revit-GetStarted/files/GUID-2FCA3097-36CC-4EED-B6BB-BAF431EC9475-htm.html

Hysopt BIM Syncer windows are displayed off the screen

This behavior can occur if Autodesk Revit was displayed on a monitor other than the primary monitor before you disabled multiple display support. A possible solution to resolve this issue, go to windows > settings > system > display > display resolution and change the display resolution to smaller resolution.

Why are most of the buttons in the tab of the Hysopt BIM Syncer disabled?

Causes:

  1. You need to login into the Hysopt BIM Syncer to activate most of the buttons.
See Start the BIM Syncer and log in

  2. If the version of your Hysopt BIM Syncer is out of date, you will need to install a newer version first
    See https://hysopt.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HBF/pages/3033300993/Installation+of+the+BIM+Feeder+plugin#Detection-of-new-versions

Unknow subject

The volume (m³) of my space in Revit is zero or not calculated.
What is the difference between Hysopt Optimiser and Hysopt BIM Syncer?

The best way to explain the difference between the Hysopt BIM Syncer and the Hysopt Optimiser, is to explain the common functionality and the specific differences they have.

Common

BIM Syncer

Optimiser

Both the Hysopt Optimiser as the Hysopt BIM Syncer share the functionality to:

Rapidly model P&ID schemes:

  • Fast P&ID modeler

  • BC methodology

  • Inspiration library

  • P&ID export to PDF and DXF

  • Digital Twin ready for calculation (use by Hysopt Optimiser)

Calculations:

  • System check

  • Propagation of power, flows and temperature regimes

  • Pipe selection

Specific BIM Syncer functionalities:

  • BIM & Hysopt model generation

  • Mapping

  • Validation

  • Synchronisation of system data

  • Synchronisation of building data

  • Synchronisation of calculation data from the Hysopt optimiser

  • Export P&ID & reports to Revit sheets

Specific Optimiser functionalities:

  • Optimise components

  • Simulation

  • Partial load analysis

  • Sensitivity analysis

  • Pareto Analysis

Which Revit components are taken into account by the Hysopt BIM Syncer?

We take into account the components that are also present or have an equivalent in Hysopt.
These are the components belonging to both specified:

  • types/categories

  • system classification

Types/ categories

System Classification

  • pipes

  • analytical connections

  • pipe fittings

  • mechanical equipment

  • spaces

  • SupplyHydronic

  • ReturnHydronic

Following system classifications are not taken into account:

System Classification

  • UndefinedSystemClassification

  • SupplyAir

  • ReturnAir

  • ExhaustAir

  • OtherAir

  • DataCircuit

  • PowerCircuit

  • Telephone

  • Security

  • FireAlarm

  • NurseCall

  • Controls

  • Communication

  • CondensateDrain

  • Sanitary

  • Vent

  • Storm

  • DomesticHotWater

  • DomesticColdWater

  • Recirculation

  • OtherPipe

Are Pipe placeholders and analytical connections supported?

Hysopt BIM Syncer can take Pipe placeholders and analytical connections into account.

How is a fitting (e.g. tee fitting) for which not all connectors are connected or a capped end handled?

Connector of tee fitting is not connected (disconnects)

In case of a disconnect, the BIM syncer will handle it as a fitting with two connectors, so it will not handle it as a Tee-point.

In this case, the pipe segments primary and secondary from the T-point, will all be handled as ONE branch

Cap open end of tee fitting

  1. Pipe is connected to tee fitting which is capped with a pipe cap

  2. Tee fitting is connected with a pipe cap

BIM Syncer will handle that branch as a dead-end branch, and it will handle the fitting (from a hydraulic perspective) as a fitting with two connectors, so it will not handle it as a Tee-point.

In this case, the pipe segments primary and secondary from the T-point, will all be handled as ONE branch

A non-capped pipe is connected

If a non-capped pipe is connected, then the BIM Syncer will handle it as a fitting with three connectors. It is assumed that this pipe is not fully modelled and needs additional pipe segments, fittings, and components.

In this case, the pipe segments connected to the T-point will be handled as three different branches, seperated by the fitting

Revit and/or the Hysopt BIM Syncer crashes without any further notice

Solution:

Work through the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. look into the log file and see if there is a message that helps you further.

  2. look into the Windows Event viewer and see if there is a message that helps you further.

  3. collect as much info as possible and contact your reseller. Check our support page.

In Sync Views mode, Revit sometimes intercepts the "CTRL-H" command. Instead of showing the replace Base Circuits dialog, Revit annotates the menubar.

If you enable the Sync Views mode, click on a Hysopt Base Circuit, and subsequently press CTRL-H to replace this Base Circuit, Revit sometimes intercepts the command to show annotations on the menubar. The Replace Base Circuit functionality of Hysopt is not loaded.

Unfortunately this is a Revit limitation that cannot be fixed.
However, there are some workarounds to avoid it :

  • don’t click too quickly on different hysopt Base Circuits
(give Revit the time to sync the view and highlight the Revit element before clicking on the next Base Circuit)

  • lower the higlight time in the settings page to 1 second

  • Disable the Sync Views mode when replacing Base Circuits

What if you change your Hysopt model or Revit model outside the Hysopt BIM Syncer

The changes will be detected when you re-validate.

Errors might occur when you removed some items. The mapping in the Hysopt BIM Syncer might think they still exist.

Can I remove the assistance parameters, after using them to assist generation?

Yes, go to Manage > Project parameters

and remove the Hysopt parameters
