Hysopt BIM Syncer can create a P&ID model (calculation model) from a Revit model. It uses a smart algorithm that first identifies the end units (heat emitters) in your system, such as radiators, fan coils, or floor heating. Then, it analyses how the system is connected with components and pipes, such as pumps, valves, or fittings. The algorithm stops when it reaches a production unit, such as a boiler, chiller, or heat pump. This way, Hysopt BIM Syncer can generate a complete and accurate P&ID model of your system.
To identify if a Revit component is an end unit, Hysopt BIM Syncer uses the classification of a Revit component. If it is not possible to identify if a Revit component is an end unit, than you should help the algorithm with adding assistance parameters.

Piping system
In the Hysopt BIM Syncer we focus on heating and cooling applications while Revit piping systems are used for serveral other applications eg. domestic cold and hot water, fire protection, sanitary. Heating and cooling applications in Revit use the same piping system classification hydronic supply and hydronic return. Hysopt BIM Sycner cannot differ heating or cooling system based on piping system classifications in Revit. For this reason an assistance parameter is added to inform the Hysopt BIM Syncer if a hydronic system is a heating or cooling system. At default all hydronic systems will be generated as heating systems.
Basecircuit placeholders
The generated Hysopt model is created with “Base Circuit placeholders”. (What are base circuits?)
A placeholder is a useful tool when we want to generate a Hysopt model in the Hysopt BIM Syncer without knowing the classification of the component or without fully drawing the components (eg. floor heating). A placeholder allows us to assign a generic type to the base circuit, such as a production, component, pump, regime changing and end units without specifying its type (eg. component → valve → on/off valve). This way, we can still model the P&ID of the system, even if we do not have a complete classification of the component. A placeholder can be replaced later by a specific component if needed.

We found a branch with an unknown location," this might indicate that the classification type of the pipe segments is not consistent in our BIM model
