Fixed pressure drop lower than required pressure drop

Fixed pressure drop lower than required pressure drop

The error message:

This message can show up when you are using balance valves.

Meaning:

A standard balance valve is set to have a minimum required pressure drop of 3 kPa, but the calculated pressure drop over the valve, based upon the KV-value, may be smaller than this 3 kPa, in which case the error pops up.

How to solve this error:

The first check that should be done is the KV-value itself. Does the set KV-value correspond to the real-life situation? If so, the minimal required pressure drop can be lowered to 0 kPa.

This can be very valuable when a balance valve needs to be removed (this can’t be done visually). By locking the KV-value to 1.000.000 the pressure drop over the valve is nearly 0. However, if the minimal required pressure drop is set to 3 kPa, Hysopt will show this fault. In this case, again change the value to 0.
