Add Hysopt Parameters

The “Add Hysopt parameters” tool automatically generates project parameters that are relevant for validation and synchronisation with the Hysopt BIM Syncer. Based on the Category of each Revit object, a specific set of Hysopt parameters is added to that particular object automatically as part of the functionality.

The parameters allow the user to connect with the Hysopt platform without the need to manually adjust existing families.

The “Add Hysopt Parameters” button also includes Hysopt assistance parameters. More information about assistance parameters can be found under “Add assistance parameters”.

Parameter list

The following parameters are added to the project parameters:

Hysopt - Design Capacity

Hysopt - Design Capacity is added to validate and synchronise the design capacity of end units and production units between Hysopt and Revit. The parameter encompasses all power related variables, such as design heat flow, design capacity and design power. The data type in Revit is HVAC - Power.

Hysopt - Kv/Kvs value

Hysopt - Kv/Kvs value is added to validate and synchronise the Kv or Kvs value of all components in the Hydraulic circuit between Hysopt and Revit. The data type in Revit is Number, but the variable is expected in [m³/h].

Hysopt - Name

Hysopt - Name is added to validate and synchronise the identifier of any relevant object between Hysopt and Revit. The data type in Revit is TEXT.

Hysopt - Supply temperature

Hysopt - Supply temperature is added to validate and synchronise the design supply temperature of end units between Hysopt and Revit. The data type in Revit is HVAC - Temperature.

Hysopt - Return temperature

Hysopt - Return temperature is added to validate and synchronise the design return temperature of end units between Hysopt and Revit. The data type in Revit is HVAC - Temperature.

Tutorial: Application of Hysopt parameters

The Hysopt parameters are used in the validation and synchronisation process as part of the validation report. More information about how to create and use the validation report can be found under validation report.

Example

Below, you can find an example on how to use the Hysopt parameters to validate and synchronise the model between Hysopt and Revit. I use the Hysopt parameters in Revit to add hydronic information to my radiator end units:

Next, I want to verify that hydronic calculations in the Hysopt BIM Syncer uses the most recent data in Revit. For this purpose, I will direct myself to the validation report:

The Hysopt BIM Syncer detects a discrepancy between the Revit information and the Hysopt information. This means that the information of the BIM modeler does not allign with the information the engineer is using for calculations. The validation report allows for synchronisation from Revit to Hysopt or from Hysopt to Revit, so that the user can quickly resolve the problem.

The information in Hysopt has now been automatically updated based on the information in Revit. The great advantage is that a re-iteration of new project data can be processed in a matter of seconds so that both digital twins always remain connected.
